Discover Yongkang Beef Noodles

If you're ever in the mood for a hearty, flavorful bowl of noodles that truly captures the essence of Taiwan's food culture, you can't go wrong with Yongkang Beef Noodles. Nestled in the heart of Taipei, this beloved diner has been serving up some of the most satisfying bowls of beef noodles you'll find anywhere.

Located at No. 17號, Lane 31, Section 2, Jinshan S Rd, Da’an District, Taipei City, Taiwan 106, the spot is easily accessible and consistently bustling with both locals and tourists alike. Its reputation has only grown over the years, and it’s easy to see why.

As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by the warm and inviting aroma of simmering broth. The atmosphere is casual, giving off a traditional Taiwanese vibe, perfect for enjoying a comforting meal in a relaxed environment. If you’ve never tried Taiwanese beef noodles before, this place is a must-visit. Their signature beef noodle soup is rich, savory, and packed with flavor in every bite. The noodles themselves are perfectly chewy, not too thick or too thin, with just the right texture to complement the tender beef.

One of the standout features of Yongkang Beef Noodles is the balance of flavors in the broth. It’s not overpowering but has layers of depth that slowly unfold with each spoonful. The beef is melt-in-your-mouth tender, a result of slow braising that gives it an incredibly rich taste. If you're a fan of spice, the broth can also be slightly enhanced with chili paste for an added kick, making it even more satisfying.

But the Yongkang Beef Noodles menu doesn’t stop at just one dish. The restaurant offers various options, including dry noodles, where the noodles are served with a topping of tender beef slices and a savory sauce, allowing you to experience the flavors in a slightly different way. The dish is accompanied by a bowl of light, flavorful broth to balance out the richness of the noodles and beef. Whether you’re craving something soupy or a lighter option, there’s a dish to suit everyone’s taste.

For those who like to try a bit of everything, the restaurant also offers sides like pickled vegetables, which perfectly complement the main dishes, and various traditional Taiwanese appetizers to enhance the overall experience. Whether you go for the classic beef noodle soup or a lighter dish, you’ll find the menu packed with options that reflect the heart and soul of Taiwan’s culinary traditions.

Aside from the food, the service at Yongkang Beef Noodles is efficient and friendly. The staff is always willing to help guide you through the menu if you're unsure about what to order, and the food arrives piping hot, ready to be enjoyed immediately. In terms of pricing, the dishes are quite affordable, offering great value for the high-quality ingredients and generous portions.

A major draw to the restaurant is its location in the vibrant Da'an District, one of Taipei's most famous food areas. You’ll find it in close proximity to some of the city's top attractions, making it a perfect stop for anyone exploring the area. Whether you’re a tourist or a local, it’s a great spot to relax and refuel after a day of sightseeing or shopping.

As for the reviews, Yongkang Beef Noodles has earned rave reviews for both the quality of its food and its welcoming atmosphere. Many customers highlight the consistency of the dishes, mentioning that the flavors are just as delicious on their first visit as they are on repeat visits. Word of mouth has turned this place into a staple in Taipei's culinary scene, and it’s clear why people keep coming back. The positive reputation also speaks volumes about the restaurant's commitment to providing customers with a top-notch dining experience.

If you’re in Taipei and looking for a taste of authentic Taiwanese beef noodles, Yongkang Beef Noodles should definitely be on your list. The combination of flavorful broth, tender beef, and perfectly cooked noodles makes it a must-try, whether it’s your first time in Taiwan or your hundredth.

  • This is the best beef noodle spot recommended by my cousin who knows food really well. I loved it! The beef noodle soup does not have tomato in it (or at least I couldn’t see or taste it). The eggplant and string beans were a good addition. Saw a lot of people who ordered the rice powder dish (it looks like fried rice). My friend and I came on a Sunday around noon and waited about 10min. The turnover is pretty quick, and staff is friendly.

  • The history of this restaurant is really cool. The original owner of the recipe ran a stall and either sold it to retire or pay off his gambling debts, nobody really knows. The beef noodle soup is the best in Taiwan. Order the spicy beef noodle, it's not spicy, it's very rich and flavorful. The cold appetizers are very good as well. There is always a line out the door on weekends and holidays but it moves quick. The place gets very busy and more likely than not, you will be seated with strangers. I come here every chance I get. Don't forget to load up your soup with the pickled mustard greens. Definitely recommend if you're craving beef noodle soup or are in the area.

  • One of our favorite beef noodles whenever we are in Taipei. At 2pm on a weekday , the place is totally full. Don’t be put off by the queue- the dishes are served promptly and lines moves fast ( not exactly the place where you linger behind for a chat or coffee). The star of the show is the beef noodles and it goes very well with the unlimited pickled vegetables on each table.

  • The portion is very generous, honestly quite big for a girl. There’s a lot of beef, the noodles are good, and the soup is flavorful as well. They also have pickled greens on the table that you can add in. Overall, it’s quite good.

  • There is a reason this place has been a staple since 1963 (featured on Netflix and awarded bid gourmet by Michelin)! Yong Kang is one of the most popular spots in Taiwan for braised beef noodle soup, and it totally lives up to the hype. My favorites were the braised noodle soup with beef and tendon, the meat was tender and I just loved the rich flavor of the soup base. You also have to try the steamed sticky rice with pork ribs; it is delicious. Don't let the long lines scare you off; they move surprisingly fast. It is definitely a bustling, crowded spot, so be prepared to share a table with other patrons, but that’s just part of the authentic experience. Despite the crowd, the service was efficient and really friendly. Highly recommend!

  • Best beef noodle soup of the trip! The beef was so tender and even the tendons were melt in your mouth delicious. We also got this nice side dish which was like a steam pork rib in rice over squash. Soooo delicious. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area, you wont regret it. Also, for the price, it was likely one of the best quality/price meals of trip
